Welcome

BandAid is a desktop application that provides a dynamic visualization of the amateur radio bands. It's distributed with definitions for the HF bands, from 160 meters through 6 meters, but is easily extensible to any part of the radio spectrum.

Features

  • Displays the legal boundaries and mode sub-bands, based upon the operator's license class
  • Displays "well-known" spots at which various modes and activities can usually be found
  • Interfaces directly with W1HKJ & Associates FLDIGI program to synchronize with radios in real-time
    • Tracks and displays radio frequency changes made either in fldigi or directly at your radio
    • Commands your radio to change frequency, when you select a band spot
  • Displays DX cluster activity from HamQTH in near real-time

Band, sub-band and band spot information is defined in an XML text file and can be easily modified or extended to suit your operating needs. Although designed with "digital modes" operators in mind, BandAid can be useful to any ham operating on the HF bands.
